DESCRIPTION

I have long been a fan of the Destiny franchise by Bungie and wanted to try my hand at creating an exotic weapon of my own design. This weapon is created to be on par with most other exotic special weapons in the game... until it gets in the hands of an experienced build-crafter.

WEAPON DESIGN

There already exists two weapons in Destiny that can change their elemental affinity on the fly, Hard Light and Borealis. However, neither is able to change to the newest damage type, Stasis. Also despite being able to change their damage type, which is albeit incredibly powerful, they do not actually do anything with those damage types beyond the normal effects of being able to match a target shield's elemental affinity.

I always thought that more could be done with the elements than what the existing weapons did. For starters, my grenade launcher, Iris's Prism, can switch elemental affinity on the fly the same way that the other two weapons can. There is, however, one major difference. Iris's Prism utilizes the darkness just as it does the light. This means that it can switch to Stasis just as it can switch to any of the light elemental affinities.

What truly sets Iris's Prism apart is the ability to apply an effect with a direct hit. Each mode will apply a different effect on a hit. The icing on the cake is that each effect was decided on to synergize well with other abilities and pieces of equipment that exist in Destiny such that this gun can not only help round out the player's loadout but also that of their teammates.
